Today I am very excited to have a guest post from Katie of the delicious Chocolate-Covered Katie. Based on her catchy name I’m sure you’re not surprised in the least that today’s idea is a bit of a sweet treat. But, of course, it has a healthy twist with bananas, yogurt and granola as the key players. Thanks for sharing your sweet tooth with us Katie. Enjoy!
Hi, I’m Katie of the blog, Chocolate-Covered Katie.
I’ve long been a fan of Oxygen, Clean Eating, and Tosca, herself; so being asked to guest post was a huge honor. I fully believe in the message of Eating Clean, and most of the recipes on my own website are “clean” recipes – no white carbs, trans fats, or processed ingredients.
Today’s recipe is pretty foolproof and simple, proving you don’t need to spend a ton of time (or money) on a healthy diet. These breakfast banana pops are a fun DIY project, and you can customize them with your favorite toppings.
Breakfast Banana Pops
(4 bananas make 8 pops)
• 4 bananas
• yogurt of choice (Greek, Wholesoy, Almond Dream, Silk, etc.)
• granola of choice, or even Clean Eating Graham Crackers
• add-on ideas: mini chocolate chips, coconut shreds, cinnamon sugar, raisins, etc.
• popsicle sticks or silverware to insert in the bananas
Pour granola into a very shallow dish or plate. Peel bananas, cut in half, and insert popsicle sticks. Dip into yogurt (or coat with a knife), then roll into granola and add-ons. (I stuck the chips on by hand, after rolling in the granola.) Place on a parchment or wax-lined tray and freeze. Keep uneaten pops in the freezer.
Please do stop by sometime at Chocolate-Covered Katie. I love meeting new people!
